Community Power: Plug It In conference - 25 November 2011
Making the Big Society a reality in Suffolk. Bringing together Suffolk’s Voluntary & Community Sector and Suffolk’s Statutory Sector.
25th November 2011
Kesgrave Conference Centre
9am-4pm
Why do we need to meet?
The challenges facing Suffolk over the next few years are considerable and will affect every person living in Suffolk. To meet the challenge, everyone is agreed that services will need to be designed, organised and delivered in a very different way.
Only by truly working together, trusting each other and pooling the talents and resources of everyone, can we hope to improve Suffolk. In spite of the general acceptance that change is needed, it is proving incredibly difficult for change to take place.
What is it?
It is the place where:
- ‘Us and Them’ will become Us
- We will hear from Key Note speakers Sir Stuart Etherington (CEO of the National Council for Voluntary Services) and Stephen Singleton (Suffolk Foundation) who will set the scene
- key decision makers and ‘movers and shakers’ from across Suffolk will work out how to move forward
The outcome will be a better understanding of the barriers that are holding us back and a set of concrete proposals on action we will take, together, to break down those barriers.
How will it work?
The day has been designed to get all parties sitting down and talking honestly and openly to each other about their fears, their hopes and their challenges. Whatever your role you will have a voice that can be heard. This will give us the conditions where we can uncover ‘what is stopping us making the changes?’ as well as ‘where do we focus on what will make a difference?’
Who needs to be involved?
We need YOU to be there to ensure that we have the widest possible range of sectors, interests, location and experience to make these outcomes, THE outcomes. It is up to us to create the opportunities and move to action.
Please make sure you can attend this important event by booking your place.
