The Suffolk Congress is a dynamic and innovative response by the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) in Suffolk to the demands that ‘Big Society’ and the challenges that cuts in funding will bring. It enables us to respond better to strategic developments within statutory agencies and other partners.

Groups and charities have evolved as people see and respond to need – our people want to make a difference in Suffolk and they do. We are a diverse sector, reaching out to a vast and varied number of causes. Grassroots community action in Suffolk is the embodiment of the Big Society. Small cuts at this level make a big difference to the quality of life of the people of Suffolk.
